Your First Steps
Starting a project with Webbfox is straightforward. Once you've signed off on a proposal, we move into kickoff — a focused phase designed to align both teams and set the project up for success.
Here's what to expect in the first two weeks.
The Kickoff Process
1. Introductions and Access
We'll schedule a kickoff call with your key stakeholders. This is where we confirm project goals, identify decision-makers, and agree on communication channels. You'll also receive access to our project workspace where timelines, files, and feedback are tracked.
2. Discovery Workshop
For most projects, we run a discovery session (60–90 minutes) covering:
- Business context — what the site needs to achieve and who it serves
- Content inventory — what exists, what's missing, and who's responsible for it
- Technical requirements — integrations, hosting preferences, CMS needs
- Brand and design direction — existing guidelines, reference sites, tone of voice
3. Brief and Timeline
Within a few days of the workshop, we deliver a project brief summarising what we heard and what we'll build. This includes a proposed timeline with milestones. You review, we adjust, and once approved, the build phase begins.
What We Need From You
To keep things on track, have the following ready before kickoff:
- A primary contact who can make decisions or escalate quickly
- Brand assets — logos (SVG preferred), colour values, font files or licences
- Content direction — even draft copy helps; we can advise on structure through our content and linking guides
- Access credentials — for existing hosting, domain registrar, analytics, or any third-party tools we'll need to integrate
Typical Timeline
A standard brochure site (5–10 pages) moves from kickoff to launch in 4–6 weeks, assuming content is ready. Larger builds with custom functionality or CMS integration typically take 8–12 weeks.
These timelines assume reasonable feedback turnaround. Delays in approvals or content delivery will shift the schedule — we'll always communicate this early.
What Happens Next
